Prof. Dr. Sultan Tarlacı was born in Rize in 1970. He graduated from the Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 1995 and completed his specialization and doctorate in Neurology at the same institution in 2000. He has been recognized with multiple prestigious awards, including the Brain Research Association Research Incentive Award (2000), the TÜBİTAK–Brain Research Association Research Incentive Award (2001), and the Sedat Simavi Health Sciences Award from the Turkish Journalists Association (2003). In 2014, he was honored by the NeoCortex student community for his contributions to scientific research and mentorship. Prof. Dr. Tarlacı is the founder, namesake, and editor-in-chief of the International Journal of NeuroQuantology, established in 2003, which explores the intersection of neuroscience and quantum physics. The journal was accepted into international scientific indexes (SCI, SCI-E) in 2008 and continues to be published under his leadership. His book NeuroQuantology was published internationally by Nova Publishers in 2014. He has authored more than 40 scientific papers in neurology, neuroscience, and neurophilosophy, with nearly 1,000 international citations. In addition to his scientific contributions, he frequently appears on television as an invited speaker, discussing topics ranging from cognitive sciences, behavioral sciences, brain research, and altered states of consciousness to boundary sciences. Prof. Dr. Tarlacı is also an accomplished author. His works include the medical textbook Emergency Neurological Diseases (2004/2008), the novel 197 Days (2014), and several widely read popular science books: Death Dictionary (2016), Why Schrödinger’s Cat Became Schizophrenic (2017), From Cave to Mars (2017), and Crime and the Brain (2017). Through his combined roles as a neurologist, researcher, editor, and writer, Prof. Dr. Sultan Tarlacı continues to shape both academic discourse and public understanding of the human brain.
