Dr Lee Cheng Kiang

Dr Lee Cheng Kiang is a Consultant Neurosurgeon practising at Mount Elizabeth Hospital. He has broad experience in general neurosurgery, with particular expertise in neuro-oncology, spinal degenerative conditions, head injury, vascular neurosurgery, skull base surgery and paediatric neurosurgery. Education & Specialist Training Dr Lee graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the National University of Singapore in 2000. He subsequently obtained: Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MRCS) Master of Medicine (General Surgery) in 2005 In 2004, he was accepted into the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) Neurosurgery Training Programme, completing his specialist training and attaining Fellowship in Neurosurgery in 2009. International & Subspecialty Experience During his neurosurgical training, Dr Lee was seconded to the Metropolitan Health Service of Western Australia, where he provided neurosurgical services across several major centres, including: Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital – managing neuro-oncology, spinal degenerative diseases, nerve compression syndromes, vascular and skull base neurosurgical conditions Royal Perth Hospital – responsible for head injury and trauma neurosurgery Princess Margaret Hospital – managing paediatric neurosurgical conditions This international exposure provided him with comprehensive experience across adult and paediatric neurosurgery, as well as complex cranial and spinal disorders. Clinical Experience in Singapore Dr Lee was actively involved in the care and surgical management of neurosurgical patients during his tenure with: National Neuroscience Institute (NNI) Changi General Hospital (CGH) He played a significant role in ensuring high clinical standards and patient safety, holding several key leadership and governance positions: Chairman, Morbidity & Mortality Audit Committee (Neurosurgery) – Changi General Hospital Chief Quality (Clinical) Officer, Department of Neurosurgery – Singapore General Hospital Member, Trauma Committee – Singapore General Hospital Member, Medical Board – Changi General Hospital These roles reflect his strong commitment to clinical governance, quality assurance and continuous improvement in neurosurgical care.
