Dr. Gourab Sen

Dr. Gourab Sen is a highly experienced Consultant General, Hepatobiliary, and Abdominal Transplant Surgeon (Liver/Kidney/Pancreas) at Burjeel Medical City, with extensive training and consultant practice in India and the UK. He earned his MBBS (1993) and MS in General Surgery (1998) from Calcutta, India, followed by an MD research degree in the UK. He completed higher surgical training in North-East England and was awarded the CCT from the Royal College of Surgeons, later undertaking a post-CCT fellowship in multi-organ transplantation. With over 14 years as a Consultant, Dr. Sen has performed nearly 400 liver transplants and has vast experience in kidney and pancreas transplantation, complex liver, biliary, and pancreatic surgeries for cancer, including major robotic procedures. He has held key leadership roles, including lead clinician for liver and pancreatic cancer and clinical lead for his department in the UK. Dr. Sen is actively involved in teaching, training, and research, serving as faculty for minimally invasive and robotic surgery courses, and has numerous publications. He is also a member of multiple international professional societies.
