Dr. Victor Leroy obtained his medical degree from Nancy Medical School, France, in 2012. He completed a postgraduate diploma in adult psychiatry and psychotherapy, followed by advanced training in addiction psychiatry at Lausanne University Hospital (LUH). Between 2012 and 2014, he trained at Les Boréales, a specialized center for the management of intra-family abuse at LUH, which greatly shaped his clinical approach and led him to pursue further training in systemic psychotherapy. After a year in LUH’s emergency department, Dr. Leroy joined the Addiction Medicine Department in 2017, where he contributed to the launch of the federal HeGeBe pharmaceutical heroin prescription program. He currently serves as one of the physicians at LUH’s 22-bed inpatient addiction treatment unit, gaining recognized expertise in harm reduction, interdisciplinary collaboration, and supporting parenthood among patients with substance use disorders. Dr. Leroy is actively engaged in research through the UNIL/FNS “Medicine Under Control” group, where his MD thesis focuses on supporting parenting capacities in individuals with substance use disorders. He also plays a key role in medical education, regularly conducting workshops with the AVMCA, and is a member of COROMA (Addiction Medicine Physicians of Romandy) and FORDD (Federation of Addiction Medicine Training & Teaching in Romandy). He consults in French and English, and also speaks German and Italian.
