Dr. Francesco Liuzza

Dr. Francesco Liuzza is a distinguished Italian orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee prosthetic surgery and the complex traumatology of the limbs, pelvis, and acetabulum. Graduating with honors in Medicine and Surgery in 2001 and completing his specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology with the highest distinction in 2006 at the Policlinico Agostino Gemelli (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Rome), he has built a career marked by surgical excellence, research, and academic leadership. He further refined his expertise in Scotland at the Wishaw General Hospital and the Hyrmires Hospital in Glasgow, where he trained in advanced navigated knee prosthetic surgery. From 2007 to 2018, Dr. Liuzza served as an orthopedic surgeon in several leading Italian private-accredited hospitals—including Aurelia Hospital in Rome and Casa di Cura Rugani in Siena—where he deepened his experience in complex limb and pelvic trauma under renowned specialists such as Dr. Michel Oransky. Between 2018 and October 2024, he was Medical Director at the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli. During these years, he combined surgical activity with teaching roles at the School of Specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology, Physiotherapy Degree Programs, and university master programs. His work focused mainly on advanced pelvic trauma surgery, primary hip arthroplasty, and complex revision procedures.
