Dr Chng Nai Wee

Experience Dr Chng Nai Wee is an experienced eye specialist in Singapore. He practices at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Gleneagles Hospital, and Parkway East Hospital. His main areas of expertise include complex and refractive cataract surgery, eyelid surgery, LASIK eye surgery, and treatment for presbyopia (age-related vision problems). Dr. Chng graduated with Honours in Medicine, Surgery, and Obstetrics from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and the National University of Ireland in 1993. During his studies, he received several awards, including a Gold Medal from The Children’s Hospital and the French O’Carroll Medal for Best Essay. He also achieved first place in Family Medicine. He holds full medical registration in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Ireland, and is fully certified by the United States Foreign Medical Graduates Examinations. He later specialised in ophthalmology and earned a Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) degree from the National University of Singapore. He also served as a Clinical Tutor at the university’s Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Chng is fully certified by the International Council of Ophthalmology and holds Fellowships from leading surgical colleges in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Hong Kong, and Singapore. In addition, he has a Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine from the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine. Dr. Chng completed his advanced surgical training at the Singapore National Eye Centre, where he worked as a Consultant Ophthalmologist in cataract and LASIK services. He established a Wet Laboratory Training Facility and trained many young eye doctors in microsurgery and cataract surgery. He has also delivered instructional lectures at major international eye surgery conferences in the United States and Europe. He has received the Best Research Paper Award at the Singapore-Malaysia Ophthalmology Meeting and presented research on multifocal and aspheric lenses at leading global ophthalmology conferences. In 2009, Dr. Chng joined Eagle Eye Centre as the Director of Aesthetic and Comprehensive Ophthalmic Surgeries.
