Dr. Abraham Avigdor is a leading hemato-oncologist, specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and research of lymphomas. He currently serves as Director of the Institute of Hematology and Co-Director of the Division of Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation at Sheba Medical Center. From 2011 to 2018, he was Chairman of the Israeli Lymphoma Study Group. Dr. Avigdor completed his training in Internal Medicine and Hematology at Sheba Medical Center and pursued a post-doctoral fellowship at the Weizmann Institute in Prof. Tsvee Lapidot’s laboratory, focusing on the biology of normal hematopoietic and leukemic stem cells. His clinical expertise spans all types of lymphomas, with a special focus on integrating CAR T-cell therapy into the modern treatment of non-Hodgkin lymphomas and multiple myeloma. His current research also investigates the prognostic role of PET/CT imaging in Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphomas and the development of novel therapeutic regimens combining biological and immunological agents. Dr. Avigdor maintains active international collaborations with leading groups, including LYSA (France), EMCL (European Mantle Cell Lymphoma Network), and the International Study Group on PET in Lymphoma and Myeloma.
