Founded in 1885 as Gwanghyewon, Severance Hospital is the oldest Western-style medical institution in South Korea and one of Asia's most prestigious university hospitals. As the flagship hospital of Yonsei University Health System, Severance has played a pioneering role in the development of modern medicine in Korea for more than 140 years.
